RFID Tool Identification - How it Works
ToolConnect uses RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags, embedded in tool holders. Utilizing a tool presetter, the measurement data is written to the RFID tag. The tool is then placed in a custom RFID read station at the machine, and the data is read and displayed by ToolConnect.
ToolConnect processes and updates tool life and offset information directly to (and from) the CNC control.
ToolConnect guides the user through the process, confirming each step is executed successfully before proceeding. The ToolConnect HMI displays all user-specified tool and process information, along with a tool image to easily verify that the correct tool is being loaded.
